We all know that in July 2020, the State Fair was canceled due to COVID-19. But, you might not know that starting tomorrow, you can still get your NC State Fair food fix.
Where Do I Go?
Head down to the regular fair grounds for all your traditional fair food favs.
Enter through Gate 9 off Trinity Road and park in the midway area. Walk up the hill towards Dorton Arena, and you’ll be in the right spot to get the funnel cakes and corndogs you’ve been missing this month.
When Can I Stop By?
The NC State Fair food event is from October 15-25 from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily.

Fried Foods: Savory
Then head over to Waypoint Oyster Bar for deep-fried lobster on a stick and to Ragin’ Cajun for deep-fried jalapeño bacon pimento cheese fritters.
Fried Foods: Sweet
Old Style Foods is offering not only deep fried s’mores, but deep fried Pop Tarts too!
Craving a funnel cake? The Gobblin’ Gourmet has you covered with their myriad of gourmet funnel cake flavors including Blueberry Bump, Praline, Red Velvet and Pumpkin Spice.

On hotter days, there’s absolutely nothing like a sno cone. To beat the heat, head on over to Brinkley Entertainment.
Is it even the Fair if you don’t head home with kettle corn? We don’t think so. Stop by the Raleigh Downtown Lions Club to make your experience authentic.
Douglas Grover will be serving up corn on the cob, corn in a cup, Flamin’ Hot Cheetos corn on the cob, and pumpkin spice corn on the cob.
Cookies, Cakes and Fudge
Favor Desserts‘ menu boasts cookies, cake pops and homemade cake slices … and you can also pick up a glass of milk for dunking. After that glass of milk, swing by NC Fudge & Stuff, which will be offering both fudge and gummies.
By this point, you have to be thirsty! Moose Joose Slush is serving up frozen sweet tea and over six flavors of slush drinks — possibly in their pumpkin cups. If you’re looking for a different kind of drink receptacle, Tropical Delights will offer cored-out pineapples and coconuts filled with frozen fruit smoothies.
Which Precautions Will the NC State Fair Food Event Take?
Social distancing and face coverings are required.
No gatherings will be permitted on the state fair grounds. While you can head up to your favorite vendors to order, there will be no seating area — only take-out service.
Also, no pets will be permitted at the NC State Fair food event.
What Else Should I Know?
Most vendors will be accepting cash only. An ATM will be available on the east side of the Dorton Arena.
