All of this time spent at home over the last few months has given many the opportunity to clean out closets and drawers. And, if you are anything like me, those clothes will sit in a pile in the corner for weeks! In order to help prevent that, below is a list of organizations in NC that you may not have heard of that accept clothing donations. Organizations altered their drop-off procedures to allow for proper social distancing. Make sure to check out the organization’s websites to get more information!
Dress for Success was founded in 2008 with the mission to “empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and development tools to help women thrive in work and life.” They accept business suits and other professional attire in good condition. These clothes are used to help unemployed women in the Triangle land on their feet. However, in order to comply with COVID-19 guidelines, they have made changes to their donation procedure. Seal your donations in cardboard box or plastic box with a lid!
